The hub is a very important part of an HVLS fan because it connects the fan blades to the motor. MAKO’s hub is made of solid AL 6061 aluminum which is both lightweight and very durable. Other HVLS fans just uses a thin sheet of either aluminum or steel. MAKO’s fan hub also uses polyurethane dampers on the hub which reduces vibrations and stress to the part of the fan where the blade is connected to the hub. Other brands do not have dampers. If the hub of the HVLS fan is not durable then, these fans are not safe.

MAKO HVLS fans uses a very unique blade design that has a complex contour that varies along its length, other brands uses just plain straight blades.
